3.1.1. Academic Standards:
For General Purpose (GP) Ratings (Deck & Engine):
- Xth Standard pass from Government recognized board with subjects English, Mathematics and Sciences with 40% aggregate. English 40% in Xth / XIIth
- OR
- XIIth Standard (Any Stream) pass from Government recognized board with 40% aggregate. English 40% at Xth or XIIth but with Subjects English, Mathematics & Science at Xth Standard.
For Saloon Rating CCMC (Certificate Course in Maritime Catering):
- Pass in 10 + 2 from any stream from government recognized board with 40% aggregate. English 40% at Xth or XIIth but with subjects English, Mathematics & Science at Xth.
3.1.2 Age Limit:
Minimum age 17½ years and maximum age 25 years on the date of commencement of course. In case of degree holder maximum age to be relaxed to 27½ years. Institutes shall comply with DGS Order no 4 of 2014, dates 10.04 for relaxation in upper age limit belonging to SC/ST candidates by 2 years.
3.1.3 Physical Standards:
As per Merchant shipping (Medical Examination) Amendment Rules, 2016 as amended from time to time.
Admission for Women:
As per M.S.Notice No.07 of 2019 (Resolution 14 of STCW Convention as amended in 2010 participation of women in maritime sector are allowed for Pre Sea Training for G.P.Rating as well as for Saloon Rating Course. Interested women candidates may also apply.
As per Training Circular No.12 of 2020 dated 1st April,2020.
12.1.4.4 - The Maximum Age Limit for women candidates of each category shall be relaxed by additional 2 years whereas the normal age limit is 25 years.
Cancellation Policy:
The eligible candidates in advance can pay the booking amount of Rs.90,000/- Those candidates who wish to opt out of the course must confirm 10 days before commencement of Course i.e 1st Jan and 1st July, the booking amount will be refunded with deduction of Rs.10,000/- for the administration cost.
Those joining the course must pay the full fees within 5 to 10 days prior to commencement of the Course for which they have taken admission. If a student applies for withdrawal/ cancel his/ her admission after commencement of the course in which he/ she is enrolled, the MMTI Institute will not refund any fees.
